Not too long ago, Aukje van Gerven jumped feet first into a giant washing machine. Before she jumped she was a legal professional and after the cycle had finished the end result was an author, adventurer and edutainer. She now creates captivating stories and short films from her experiences, to inspire others to seek new challenges and adventures within their personal lives.

beetroute - The SLOW Journey: 2008-2009, Tanzania to the Netherlands. The beetroute team cycled through 17 countries back to the Netherlands. This was the founding project of beetroute, which endeavours to Explore Edutainment. Read more.

Journey to the source: 2008 - Pangani to Olduvai. Gorge, Tanzania. A four person international team purchased local bisikelis (one speed bikes) and delivered them to a rural Tanzanian school close to Lake Eyasi. The team blogged about their adventure. Read more.

SUMMIT: 2008 - Twelve people from eight countries came together to share ideas, to inspire each other and to climb Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. Read more.

Pole tot Pole: 2007 - Aukje was the European representative on a world first Pole to Pole expedition team. The team was to travel from the South Pole to the North Pole, under human power, and address climate change issues. Read more.
