Not too long ago, Aukje van Gerven jumped feet first into a giant washing machine. Before she jumped she was a legal professional and after the cycle had finished the end result was an author, adventurer and edutainer. She now creates captivating stories and short films from her experiences, to inspire others to seek new challenges and adventures within their personal lives.

Aukje van Gerven decides to drastically change her life. She quits her office job after a long relationship fails, and started a new adventure. Together with her New Zealand partner Jon, she cycled from Tanzania, straight through Africa and the Middle East, to the Netherlands, her home. The travel companions only just met, and faced heavy challenges on the road and within their relationship. They totally rely on each other, travel with minimal means, and experience the most bizarre and beautiful things.
